Hi Experts,
I have a requirement that i need to generate reports excel format but these reports have drill through in it. I know drill through doesn't work for excel but can anyone Plz tell me how these drill through report will look like if it is downloaded in excel format.
I mean do i need to download child report separately or will the child be downloaded automatically in another sheet(xls) of main report.

Thanks,
Sunita

You will need to run and render the drillthrough target reports separately.

Thanks MF for your quick response  :),
One more quick question if i have scheduled main report(which has drill through in it) to run and save it in my LAN folder in this case, will child report also be downloaded or do i have to schedule child report as well.
Or is there any work around to download child report whenever the parent report is getting downloaded.

TIA

Hi,

You will need to schedule the child report separately - it will not automatically be run and saved as a result of scheduling the main report.

hi MF,

Would like to get some input from you in order to get started with with below requirement.

I have a excel report requirement. Which have 5 sheets. Sheet 1 contain a simple list report with a country Column ( UK, US, IND & CHINA) with hyperlink(drill through) enabled.

Now when I click UK, it should open the detailed report in Sheet 2. Similarly US in Sheet 3, IND in Sheet 4 and CHINA in Sheet 5.

I am using Cognos 8.4v and Excel 2003.

All, Please share your thoughts on how to go with it?

TIA
