IBM Planning 8.4, Authentication Provider – Active Directory

The policies of Active directory are: The account in Active directory is blocked after 3 attempts to logging with incorrect password. Also any user has to change password every 40 days.

We have the next configuration – services IBM Cognos 8 è IBM Cognos 8 Planning 8.4 are launched under Local System Account (they don't use any accounts from Active Directory). The system has been working in this configuration a half of a year. Changing of password of Cognos admin account (user who is the member of Cognos system administrator group) didn't affect anything before (it has happen 3 or 4 times). But suddenly after the changing the password the account started locking.

It looked like – admin unlocked the account but after 2 or 3 minutes the account is locked again. After some time it turned out that account is locked in the time when services IBM Cognos 8 and IBM Cognos 8 Planning 8.4 are launched. When we stopped them the account are staying unlocked. Logs showed that those services tried to connect to Active directory using the account and apparently old password.

We didn't find place where the account (of Cognos admin) had been defined in IBM Cognos Configuration explicitly. And we can't find the place where we can change old password to new one. So what we can do with the problem?

Yes, I know this way. As I said services IBM Cognos 8 è IBM Cognos 8 Planning 8.4 are launched under Local System Account - I don't use Active Directory account here (Actually I used near 2 years ago but there were problems with changing password of the account so I use Local System Account now).

And this way doesn't help in this case. ((
