Cannot open any studios on the internet

Hi guys,

Have cognos 8.4 working beautifully on the intranet. It has since been published to the internet. Now when i log in via the internet, it loads up fine but i can't open any studios and when i click on certain links, it redirects back to cognos connection. Any pointers on what to look at?

What happens when you try to launch a studio?  Do you get no response, or an error message (if so, what is the message), or... ?

Hi , it just opens a new window that redirects to the main cognos public folders.

Odd one this!  My first guess would be to check the virtual directories defined in your web server - do internet access users have the relevant permissions to execute scripts etc?  What happens if you try to run a report from the Cognos Viewer - does this work?

How has it been published to the internet?

- Did you open up port 80 on the firewall, directly agaist your webserver in the lan.
- Did you install an extra BI gateway webserver in the DMZ.
- Did you have IT setup a reverse proxy call from the DMZ.

I have not set anything in valid domain hosts, would setting this help?
