Hi All,

Cognos 8 uses lots of functions which are relating to levels and alternative hierarchies, however I could not find any way of coming up with these in TM1.

Anyone had any more luck?

Thank you
Z

Hi,

You can define named levels in TM1 for use in Cognos 8 BI.  In Architect or Perspectives, first enable display of the control cubes and dimensions (View -> Display Control Objects), then expand Cubes and double-click the }HierarchyProperties cube.  If not displayed already, set up a view with Dimensions in the rows and }HierarchyProperties in the columns.  For each dimension, you can then enter names for Level000, Level001, Level002 etc.

Finally, make sure that your TI process has the RefreshMdxHierarchy(''); function call - typically in the Prolog.

Hope that helps!

MF.

Thank you MF for the detailed answer it is working!!!

I had a look at the other control cubes / dimensions, and I think that answered my other question,
there is only one hierarchy as such "hierarchy0" created in the }hierarchies control dimension and
the edit option is disabled, that probably means that this cannot be done.

Would be nice - but TM1 doesn't currently support distinct named hierarchies. Wish it did.
