is cognos content store a local database of Cog 8 where the reports are stored.
Is it possible that the data items used in the report are also stored in Cognos  Content store ? In that case Content store might have storage issues while storing diff reports...

Hi,

The Content Store database is where the report specifications, user preferences etc are stored.  It is also where saved report outputs are stored.  It can be local to the Cognos 8 server, or it could be on a remote machine.

The data items used are held in the underlying source database(s), but obviously if some of them are used in a report whose output is then saved, the values will end up in the content store.  Bear in mind that the values will most likely have been summarised by the report, and could also have been filtered.  The report may have read thousands of physical source rows, but produce only one or two pages, so in this case the storage in the content store would ve pretty small if the output was saved.  Saving report outputs with hundreds of pages is very unusual - after all, how much value to the business would a 500 page report be?

MF.
