Framework Manager SQL xmin( ) Model Governors
Cognos strongly endorses the use of materialized views for optimum performance. However, the default generation of SQL xmin( ) functions for attributes disables the use of materialized views and can result in problems. Two configuration flags exist already to stop the xmin( ) generation in the case of determinants and levels.
You can now use two configuration options in Framework Manager as model governors to drive the xmin( ) generation for both levels and determinants.
If the governor is missing, RQP (Relational Query Planner) will read the value of the corresponding CQE configuration flag from their configuration file and use it instead.
