Hi All,

We have installed english version of Cognos 8.4. We created a view and imported that view in framework manager and created package, by using that package in the report studio we desgined a report with one prompt. when we give the japanese charaters as a prompt value even though data is present, blank report  is generated.

I guess cognos not able to compare the japanese characters with the data avaliable in the view.

Please suggest how can we pass the japanese charaters as a promt and get the data in the report.

Please reply ASAP.

Thanks in Advance,

Lee

I remember our instructor for the Cognos training course talked about this in one of her experiences.  It has to do with your server using the wrong encoding or missing a sazanami font or something.  I honestly don't remember, but you should take a look at your server.

Have you tried just outputting the parameter itself as a singleton on your report and seeing if it comes through?
