Hi All,

I have installed Cognos series 7 AM Server and Administrator on Windows XP. I have configured the DNS on my system.

Once all the components installed, i have selected to configure with defaults.

I opened the configuration manager and validated the root level and when i applied selections then i am getting directory server not responding.

Can any one guide me whether i am doing anything wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Preethi.

Try to change in cognos configuration from localhost:389 to "name of computer":389 the problem should be loalhost.

You have to set the name of computer from System properties.

Hello

With my answer I wish to confirm I have understood you correctly.

You have run the Cognos SunONE installation.  It is the application of this configuration that is causing the error?

If this is the case the you cannot apply with defaults.  You have to set the name of the ticket service computer, even if this is localhost.  From memory you also have to set one of the ports. 9010 from memory.

The default from the installation program is for these to be blank.  If this is the case the that is the cause of your error.

Regards
Stuart
