SAP BW and Cognos 8.4

Hello,

I would like to connect Cognos 8 to SAP BW Cubes/queries.

I saw some documentation on that but it is not yet very clear for me what to install and where.

I understood that i need to install SAP BW Client & BW Add-On on every Cognos server. But i also saw some infos on Powerplay Transformation Server in a document related to Cognos 8.3. It is still relevant in Cognos 8.4 ?

I searched on the ibm.com support website but didn't manage to get a clear documentation :(

Hi Jerome,

can be more specific what you are trying to accomplish?

From a configuration standpoint, yes you are correct that SAPGUI software needs to be installed on all cognos app servers, as well as the pc or server where you will be running Framework Manager.

You may also consider configuring single signon SAPSSO (there is a proven practice doc on this.)   

I can't tell from your description what you are trying to do with Powerplay, so I can't answer your questions, but I don't believe there were major changes.

The other thing you need to remember to do is enable your BEx queries to be visible via ODBO (this is a check box in the configuration settings).
