Cognos BI 8 and Websphere Portal 6 integration + Wiring the portlets.

Hello Everbody!

I have two portlets:

1. Hierarchy/Tree Portlet (Custom Portlet):
It shows a tree like structure with following information:
Geo -> Region -> Country -> Account (Its one to many relationships from left to right).

Geo 1
-> Region 1
--> Country 1
---> Account 1
---> Account 2

2. Cognos Report Portlet (Cognos Portlet): It shows some cognos report which is passed one parameter from 'Hierarchy Portlet' which is (Geo, Region, Country or Account). Report shows bar which can be further drilled down or drilled up.

Problem:
1. How to pass the parameter to cognos report from Hierarchy Portlet?
2. And how can I update the Hierarchy portlet when the cognos report is drilled down or drilled up?

I am a new B in both Cognos & WebSphere domains, any help will be highly appreciated.. i have to prepare a demo for client so any material/post/link/project that can be shared will be great :)
