Dimension Build in Datamanager - please help

I am creating a dimension and when I execute my build I get 0 ref level members. This must be something very basic that I haven't done but I'm really stuck. Where should I look to correct my problem?
I know when I get an answer to this I'm going to look really silly!

A friend suggested that I delete the whole dimension build and start again. That solved the problem but I have no idea what went wrong first time.
