I have Cognos 8.1 and 8.4 installed on three servers: Server1, Server2, Server 3.

Server1 and Server2 are designed to connect to Server3 on port 389 for authentication, which is single sign on using our domain accounts.

Single Sign On work fine for Server2 and Server3.

You can only log on as anonymous on Server1 for both installations of Cognos (8.1 & 8.4) - single sign on does not work. When navigating to Cognos Connection, it displays a page asking for credentials to the namespace defined in Cognos Configuration, however when anything valid is entered it fails to authenticate. It should display that page anyway, it should pop-up a prompt for credentials before displaying any page. In Cognos Configuration, the result of right-clicking the defined namespace and clicking "Test" is successful. Any ideas why single sign on may not work for a particular server?

Maybe problem with web server virtual directory configuration on Server1?
