Reverse proxy on the serverside present?
Firewall between server and clientside? If so, does it use traffic shaping? routing rules or statefull inspection?
Proxy server on the client side present?
Webserver running on cognos.cgi or cognosisapi.dll?

hi,
thanks for replying
I dont understand what you mean by:
"Reverse proxy on the serverside present?
Firewall between server and clientside? If so, does it use traffic shaping? routing rules or statefull inspection?
Proxy server on the client side present?"
i am using cognosisapi.dll

thanks

If it started last week, something probably changed in the environment between the client and the server.
Pop over in the IT department, buy them a cop of coffee and explain them the matter and ask them if anything changed. You need these guys help on this.

i already spoke with them, they dont know anything.
thanks

When the gui loads slowly, there are a few things to test;
- The gateway tier is not having enough resources to display the result. Install IIS on your XP box, install the Cognos 8 gateway tier on it and connect to that. Same result?
If so, the application tier is hogging things up. To what value is your java stack set, and how much memory is in the server? How much is consumed by the bibusses? Are you noticing memory paging happening on the system?
If the gateway tier on the XP box responds fast versus on the true server, we need to have a look at the IIS part. Are you running SSO against your authentication source?
