Hi

When I run a report with output to Excel, I get an excel file with 2 Tabs with data split in 2 Tabs which is ok because the number of lines are more than 65000.

When I run the report with output to 'Excel data' or csv then the output shows no data. Is this the normal behaviour or is there some setting which needs to be done.

65000 rows per tab is the default for Excel output format.  This can be changed:  https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/11.1.0?topic=sa-configuring-report-batch-report-services-use-large-worksheets

Excel Data and CSV are often misleading.  Cognos will output the results of the first query it chooses to.  If there are multiple queries in the report, that can be very confusing.  Excel Data or CSV should only be used if the report was specifically designed for that output format.  In this context, a query is defined as the query that is run (not the Query object) to produce results to present through a visualization.  The viz could be a list, a crosstab, a chart,... or even a single value in a Query Calculation based on the query (object) that is associated with a page.
