Hi

Does anyone has the link to download Oracle client 32-bit for Framework Manager? The only one I could find was for Oracle 19c and after downloading and unzipping, the setup file doesn't run. I am running it as administrator and it seems to open the console (black screen like from the command line) but after opening a black screen, stays open for a few seconds, shows a few lines and then closes. I checked the Task Manager and don't see it running anymore. I have Windows 10 Professional and I installed FM on a PC, not a server as that is the client's requirement. They don't want to install FM on a server and have people use the Remote Desktop.

This is where I downloaded it from:

https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/oracle19c-windows-downloads.html

If someone has the link to download Oracle 12c then that would probably work.

Thanks

MFGF

Hi,

Which installer did you download? Was it NT_193000_client_home.zip or NT_193000_client.zip?

The setup process sounds like it's running as expected - it opens a command window, installs the libraries, then exits. Once the installer completes, it won't continue running - it just installs the libraries FM needs to connect to Oracle, then its job is done.

Cheers!

MF.

Thanks MFGF for the reply but where does it install? I couldn't find any folder in Program Files(x86) or anywhere else. Nor did it create any environment variables for ORACLE_HOME and no additions in Windows registry either. How would FM find it?

I downloaded  NT_193000_client.zip. After installation, I should be able to see the network/admin folder somewhere where the tnsnames.ora has to be copied to.

Just checking - did you follow this procedure step by step?

Thanks for the link MFGF. It didn't give me options to select Windows Built-in account etc. but I see that it did create a folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64 but it didn't create folder C:\app\client\oracle and neither did it add that location to the PATH variable.
Looks like it tried to do it but didn't complete.

Anyway, I got 12c from a friend and installed it. That's better because it gives me the regular installation screens instead of this 19c ghost installation procedure :)

Thanks again for checking on this!
