Hello,

I faced an issue with the installation of Cognos Analytics.
Due to a lot of issues i have uninstall Cognos Analytics and Cognos Framework Manager.
But now i cannot install it again.
I launch the installer but it didn't install all files.
At the end i have the error message :
EXECUTE_SERVER_STDERR=The system cannot find the path specified.
FINDSTR: Cannot open *.log
FINDSTR: Cannot open *.log
FINDSTR: Cannot open *.log

Maybe the uninstall has not been done properly ?

Thanks for your help / feedback.

Hi,

Have you physically removed the install location folder (Program Files\IBM\cognos) after the uninstall? Have you also checked to see that there isn't anything left in any environment variables that points to the old install?

Was the old install using the bundled Informix content store? If so, have you checked to see that it uninstalled properly (eg services gone, install location removed, environment variables reset etc)? Same question for the bundled Apache DS authentication provider? did you use it? Has it uninstalled properly?

Cheers!

MF.

Hi, thanks for your response.

Yes i have removed all old files and folder. There are no env. variables related to the old install.
The service is also deleted.
Sorry i don't use  Apache DS authentication provider.
I thought something wrong on registry maybe ?
I am lost...
Thanks.

Hi,

What about Informix? Did you choose the bundled content store option when you first installed? If so, it will have tried to install Informix - it's worth checking to see if any of this is still hanging around.

Cheers!

Hi,

Oracle Exadata isn't a supported database to use as a content store for your Cognos instance. I'm not referring to your reporting data source here, but the database you were using for the content store...
