Potential Issues after Migrating to Newer version

Hello All,

Greetings!

I'm pretty new to Cognos and looking for guidance. We are planning to migrate from Cognos 11.0.8 to Cognos 11.1.7 and I wanted to check the possible issues I might encounter for report execution in Cognos11.1.7. What are the places the report might break and the effort that would be required towards remediating those.

I understand that IBM Cognos LifeCycle Manager helps in comparing the reports and gives the error details. However, I wanted to check if there is a way I can identify potential issues without   
IBM Cognos LifeCycle Manager.

I found that reports run the same or better when upgrading from 11.0.13 to 11.1.7.  I think the report engine is the same, so the improvements were probably due to the UI improvements.

If I remember correctly, Lifecycle Manager is very limited and actually has problems in Cognos 11.x.  It was designed for Cognos 10 and never updated.

You're more likely to have trouble when converting packages from CQM to DQM, but it doesn't look like that is part of your upgrade.

Thanks for your reply doug. We are also planning to convert packages from CQM to DQM. Would be great to know the potential issues converting them to DQM.
