Hi All,

I've been trying to establish Salesforce connection within cognos (version 11.0.13 LTS) and have been getting the error below.  The connection works fine within the Admin console, but throws an error when trying to create a new Package in the Framework Manager.

BMT-IMP-0002 Failed to execute metadata request. jdbcSQLExceptionCAF-WRN-2082 An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with SecureErrorID:2020-03-31-15:40:05.061-#511

We recently upgraded to version 11.1.5 on our sandbox environment based on suggestion of the IBM support and are unable to even create a connection to salesforce on our Admin Console. This case has been with IBM for almost 6 months and we haven't had much luck on this issue. I was wondering if any of you ran into this issue before and have some suggestions for me.

Appreciate your time.

Thank you,
Ayvid.

Hi,

I'd be looking at the XQE logs to see if you can find the details of that specific error. All the posted message is really saying is that something bad happened, but the Cognos Application Firewall (CAF) won't permit you to see the details. The details should be in the XQE logs though.

How was the data source connection defined? Was it done through the legacy Admin Console, or through the new Data Servers option from the Manage menu? Have you tried creating a Data Module against the data server connection as an experiment to see if that gives you the same (or a different) error?

If this has been an open case with IBM support for six months, I'd be asking for it to be escalated if I were in your shoes.

Cheers!

MF.
