Oracle 10G Upgrade vs Cognos 8.2

Hi,
We have Oracle 8.0.5 (now we are upgrading to 10G  R2.)
We had upgraded Cognos from old version  (maybe 7) to Cognos 8.2 about  a year ago.

Scenerio is, since Cognos 8.2 was not compatible with Oracle 8.0.5, one of our Cognos pundits developed a Linked_server and then made Cognos 8.2 look at Oracle 8.0.5. So now we have Cognos reports that run with Oracle 8.0.5..

With the Oracle upgrade going on, how do I make the same reports work? What are the necessary steps I need to configure or set up in Cognos 8.2 so that it looks at Oracle 10G R2.
The Configuration guide for Cognos 8.2 did  not make much sense to me. Can some one give me the correct document.
I will need lot of help here..Can some one help me out.
Thanks

I'm pretty new to cognos; however, you should be able to set up the datasource in Cognos Connect (if you have that) then run your reports directly. Basically you should be able to run the reports directly off of your datasource instead of some guys linked server.

I hope that was some help.
