Multiple authentication providers in Cognos series 7 (Planning 8.1)

Have a nice day, I assume this is pretty general question, so sorry if I did not choose the right forum for that one.

Is there a way how to configure multiple authentication providers for use with Cognos series 7, which is Cognos Planning 8.1 sort of part? Let's imagine that you have two organizations undertaking merger, each one using it's own Active Directory - how would you configure your Cognos Planning, so that users from both organizations are able to use it?

I believe it is not possible to do that straight... Probably the only way is to choose one and only one Active Directory to be source of authentication - correct for Planning 8.1 ?

I know that in 8.2 this is not problem anymore.

Best regards,

Jan

For 8.1, assuming a two-way trust on all involved trees and domains, I'd install Sun LDAP (Java System Directory Server), and use OS Signons on the namespace. Create an Accman id, and assign the appropriate OS signon to the id (either from company A or company B).  I wouldn't use an existing AD instance as the main source in this case.

True, multiple security sources in 8.2, but most find the prompt dialog to select the desired namespace more annoying than the alternatives.  Also, some integration items in 8.2 don't work when there are multiple security sources.  Not sure if those were fixed for 8.3.
