Using Parameter Maps for Attribute Level Masking

Hi,

We are trying to use parameter maps to implement Attribute Level masking in Cognos 10.2.2. Based on user role (our product role, not the Cognos role) the user will be able to see or may not see data in a field. I have some questions about parameter maps in general:

1. Does using parameter maps affect performance significantly, considering that each field I drag in the report will search in parameter maps.
2. Does performance gets worse if my data item has to traverse through potentially 1000-1500 values?
