Hey everyone,

It's been over two and a half years since I launched COGNOiSe, and nearly a year since passing on the baton to my good friends Darek, Andrew and Neil. I have periodically popped in to check the stats page (my old favourite) and marvelled at how the BSP team have grown and nurtured the community.

It's also great to see ReportNet Addict, MFGF, bdybldr, cognosfreelancer, mrcool and Bluey (the guys I cajoled into playing a senior roles as mods) continuing on their great work and passing on their hard-won knowledge.

As for myself, I took a COGNOiSe and COGNOS sabbatical and have only recently returned to the fold for a local financial services firm (based in Perth, Australia) looking to launch a COGNOS reporting solution within a Six Sigma framework. Already I have discovered my COGNOS8 knowledge is sadly floundering (and Query Studio might as well have been written in ADABAS).

Anyway, there's only one COGNOS user forum I trust...:)

P.S. if there's anyone based in Perth who would like to catch-up for a coffee in the CBD please drop me a reply here.

Hi baselinej,

Welcome back... I'd love to have a coffee with you, but you would have to send me a ticket.... Those financial service companies, don't they make big money?? Can't you send a ticket and say it's for Cognos Support in order to get familair with Query Studio?? I'd love to teach you....

With regards & best wishes!!

RA

Hey RA,

I'd much rather be in Rotterdam downing something cold from the Stadsbrouwerij De Pelgrim and catching the Eredivisie  :P

Hi Jon,

It's great to see you on these forums again.  Now where did I put that fatted calf... :-)

Over 100 degrees for Christmas eh?  Phew, glad I'm in cold, foggy rainy England instead of having to endure that! (not!!!)  ;D

Welcome back!

MF.

Hey MF,

I don't know - I can imagine myself nestling up to a Newcastle Brown in a pub I used to go to near Covent Gdn (I forget the name) and watching the Addicks get back into the Premier league :)

Great to see you are still here mate - you could well be the longest-serving member here!

Newcastle Brown fan eh? I knew there must be some outside the Tyneside area who drink the stuff, but I never knew the popularity stretched as far as "Down Under"...

Am I really the longest serving member?  I think probably "Bluey" Edis and a few others have been around since before my time, but I do probably qualify for "grumpiest sad old man" member status.  :)  The thing is, it's all your fault.  You were the one who encouraged me... <cue angry chorus of shouts from the other forum members now they know who's to blame for initiating the endless drivel from MF on these forums>
