Trying to figure out why an Excel file, (the one on the right), when "Select an item"
only displays a "shadow" underneath that w/ None of the Columns/ Fields shown.

BTW, the Excel file, to the Left, allows an item to be selected.

Has anyone encountered this?

TIA, Bob

 No.

Tomorrow I will create a new Data Module w/ the "offending" Excel file where only the "shadow" appears.

The App's Company is also aware of the problem and could find an explanation.

Will provide updates ...

SOLVED ...
At Lunch, figured there was something wrong w/ the "offending" older "MostRecent..." file
which had been uploaded in IE.

So, renamed the "MostRecent..." file and Uploaded in Chrome.  Result = WORKS !!!

From what I have observed, Cognos Analytics Data Modules need to be run in Chrome.
Apparently IE won't work completely.

Anyone w/ similar experiences, please comment.  Thank you, Bob

Hi,

You need to make sure that you are running a supported version of IE, and that you are not running in compatibility mode. There was a security patch in IE11 issued by Microsoft a few months ago that seemed to break some of the interactive menus when running/authoring reports (icons did not display but were still there invisibly) but this was in specific IE 11 versions, and it is now fixed in CA Release 7. That shouldn't affect data modules at all, though.

Cheers!

MF.
