We have a list report generated from a joined query and i have 2 of the columns groups but when i try to total the report, it will only total on the first column but i need to have an additional total for the 2nd column.  See the attached picture of the Eeployee Name totaling correctly but i cannot get the Type of Expense to be sub-totaled as well.

Please advise?

Hi,
Do the required groupings first and then do the totals and it should work.

I have done that already but it will only total the first column which is the employee name. Need be subtotal to appear at both the employee name and the type of expense column. I think it is related to the query being part of a join.

Hi,

Check the Aggregate Function and Rollup Aggregate Function properties of all items in your new query. Any items that are descriptive should have both of these set to 'None'. Any measure values should have the required behaviour in these properties (eg Total). You need to group and summarise after these changes have been made. If you have already grouped and summarised the list, remove the summaries and the grouping, then re-apply.

Cheers!

i have confirmed that both aggregation functions are set to None and when I grouped and then tried to total them it still only totals the employee name

Have you been through all items in your query and set the aggregation types (including the measures)?

Thank you.  Once I went thru all the other data items and set the aggregate options to None I was able to see the subtotals for my groupsings.

Thanks again fro your assitance
