Hi All,

can someone help me in suggesting pre-requisites(like any client i need to install etc.)/steps for creating connection in Cognos Analytics(v. 11.0.5) to SAP HANA source.

Any document /links/steps would be helpful.

Hi,

You'll need to place the SAP HANA JDBC driver into the /drivers folder within the Cognos Analytics install location. Restart the service, then add a new data source - type JDBC, and on the next page select SAP HANA as the JDBC type. Enter the JDBC URL pointing to SAP HANA, and add your credentials to sign on.

Cheers!

Cognos Analytics (Dynamic Query Engine) supports SAP Hana 1.0x and 2.0 via the SAP Hana JDBC driver.

SAP Hana 2.0 was supported in 11.R6 while SAP Hana 1.0 SP12 and prior SP's were supported by 11.R5 and earlier.

The SAP Hana JDBC driver would be copied into <cognos>\drivers. You would define a JDBC connection in the portal UI that points to your Hana instance and ....

11.R5 provides support for SAP Hana analytic views and input parameters as described here
