FM freezes on selecting Data Source after migrating Content Store

Hi,

I migrated the content store from a DB2 9.7 to a DB2 BLU 11.1.
Therefore I exported the CS via Content Administration, created the new database with the DDL from Cognos Configuration and imported the backup.
Everything works fine so far.
But now, when I touch datasources (import new tables or just test the current data sources) in Framework Manager, it freezes und must be killed. (see attached screenshot).

When I switch to the old CS in Cognos Configuration everything is fine. The new CS is definitely the problem.

I already recreated crypto keys for the configuration, but now I don't have an idea left...

Any advise?

What version and fix pack of Cognos 10 are you using? It looks like DB2 11.1 is only supported as a content store in 10.2.2 from fix pack 6 onwards (ie 10.2.2.6). You also mentioned BLU? You probably shouldn't have BLU acceleration enabled for the content store tables.

Here's a link to the supported environments page:

We are running FP2. You are obviously right, Thanks!

Would it be good practice to host the CS database on a lightweight database like Postgres on the BI Server?
Until now we had it as a database in our data warehouse (that was now upgraded to DB2 11...).

Hi,

PostgreSQL isn't one of the supported content store databases, unfortunately. It's in the list on the Supported Environments page, but if you read the note alongside, it's supported for Real Time Monitoring (RTM) metadata only - not for Cognos BI.

My choice would be to keep the content store in a robust, stable database if you can. There's no issue in using DB2 11 as a content store as long as you apply FP6 or FP7 to your Cognos installs (BI server and FM machines).

Cheers!

I upgraded BI server and FM software to FP7 and now it works like a charme.

Thank you very much for your input!
