Hi all,

I am wondering if it is a proper way to filter using attribut of a hierarchy ?

Thanks,

Hi,

It's certainly required at times. Don't be tempted to use a detail filter, though. Instead, use a dimensional expression utilising the filter() function.

If you do that you'll be met with saddened faces and the gentle shaking of heads. There might even sharp intakes of breaths, and in some cases the sucking of teeth. People might even rush to suggest that you read the postings of CognosPaul and others on the subject. The more generous posters will kindly put an arm around your virtual shoulder and explain the error of your ways...the less so will laugh behind their hands and turn their backs on you as you flounder in a morass of misleading outputs.

Say, are you for hire? I need something like that whenever I have to tell my consumers that what they want isn't feasible. ;)
