Stop the email task when the report task fails in the event studio Cognos 10.2.2

Hello Community members,

Thanks for you sharing your knowledge and help others learn. Your contribution to the community is priceless. Here is a challenge that I'm trying to solve.

I have a Job (Agent) that is set up with an event and two sequential tasks. The event checks for the existence of a flag in a table and upon success it then runs the report which calls a SQL Server Store procedure inside the report. And that task calls the Email task which sends an email to the distribution notifying them of the success of the report.

The problem is sometimes the report runs but the Stored Procedure call fails which basically means the report task fails. But the email still goes out with a blank report as attachment. We can't afford to have the email go out. My common sense tells me there got to be a solution for this but so far my research has been hitting a wall and to gain time I'm asking your help.

Did you find a solution for this? if not try to create 2 event studio reports one for each task and the first one kicks off the second. Try it and let us know and meanwhile I will try for a solution.
