Using JQuery animation on report objects

Hello

I am looking to add some animation to objects in my report (e.g. to show/hide a table or set of filters by sliding them down and up) to improve the user experience.  It seems that using HTML referenced to JQuery library (or Google hosted JQuery libary) is the best way to achieve this.  I have attempted to replicate some of the online examples shown here http://www.w3schools.com/jquery/jquery_slide.asp but without success.

Can anyone assist with this?
