Cognos Finding Large Report Outputs

Hi - we are running out of space on our Cognos Server.  I suspect some report outputs (pdf, xls, txt) may be very large.

I believe I have found these large outputs on the report server here:

cognos1(cognos)COGNOS:rsvp$ pwd
/opt/cognos/prod/c102/temp/rsvp

-rw-rw-r-- 1 cognos cognos 169M Nov 17 15:16 output3373873868883348
-rw-rw-r-- 1 cognos cognos 2.0G Nov 17 15:21 output3373873159794326

If I'm correct we have two report outputs one of 169MB and another with 2GB.   I need to find out where to find these on the Cognos Portal?

Is there a metadata table that can translate "output3373873159794326" into a CMID?  Once I know the CMID, I shouldn't have any trouble finding out which report is creating a 2GB output.

Thanks.

Hi,

If you download the free MotioPI tool, one of its options is to show stored output versions, along with Cognos Connection folder, file type, size and date created.

You can reroute the cognos temp to another mountpoint in cognos configuration.
Also check the bin and bin64 for dumpfiles (*.dmp) as report memory dumping is enabled by default, and can consume a disk quite fast.
Simply delete them.
