Hey,

During the installation of IBM Cognos 10.2.2 on a server with Windows Server 2012 64-bit I install IBM Cognos 64 bit, when selecting where you want the contents select "QuickSetup (IBM DB2)" and receives a message like in the picture, what is the reason ? Can anyone help? I tried to look for answers, but to no avail.

best wishes,
Damian

Hi,

Did you try to use an existing windows user or did you opt to create a new one? DB2 needs a windows user with admin privileges - if you choose the option to create one during the install it defaults to db2admin, and you specify what password to use.

Hey,

There's no choice create or select an already existing user. This is Cognos 10.2.2 sorry for the mistake in the subject. I have a user with administrator rights. In this step, the installation must provide the user by default shows "db2admin" and password and get an error like in the screenshot.

Regards,
Damian

If you leave the default as db2admin, this user will get created by the install process (unless it already exists). If it doesn't exist, you need to specify a password to allocate when the user is created. If it does exist (or if you specify a different windows user that already exists) you need to enter the existing password for the user. Have you verified that db2admin isn't already a windows user on that system?
