Hi Folks,

We have migrated entire content store form Cognos 8.4 to Cognos 10.2.2.All reports are working fine including security.

My client wants to upgrade theier transformer 8.4 cubes to 10.2.2.

Once i open 8.4 cubes in 10.2 should I need to recreate them?

Could you pleaes explain me the proceess model upgarding process if possible. It is something very urgent.

Your help highly appreciated.

Hi,

Transformer cubes are deployed as files on the filesystem, so they will not have been touched by your content store upgrade. To upgrade the cube files to 10.2.2 format you will need to rebuild them after opening the model in Transformer 10.2.2.

Be aware that once you open a v8.4 Transformer model in Transformer 10.2.2 and save it, you then lose the ability to open it subsequently in Transformer 8.4. I always take copies of the model files before any such undertaking (just in case things go wrong). I also save the models as .mdl before opening them in the new version of Transformer, then save them again as pyj from within the new version.

Oh - and once more, please don't use the "very urgent" thing - it indicates you think people should drop all their current workload just to respond to your request. That's not how things work on here - please read the Forum Etiquette post (linked below), paying particular attention to paragraph 2. You did the same in your post in the FM board. Please refrain from doing this again.
