If I've installed the Teradata JDBC drviers on the Cognos App Server (Linux) do I still need to configure ODBC as well?  I ask because the FM "New Data Source" docs spell out filling in a ODBC connection string.  This connection would be DQM.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

No - if you plan on using just DQM, you only need the JDBC connection to be defined. When you set up a data source connection to Teradata, the first page of connection settings is for CQM and for authentication - you only need to check the password box and specify the user ID and password on this page. When you click Next you can then enter the JDBC connection parameters.

Cheers!

Thank you!  One other quick question - Is the Teradata client software required on the Cognos Application Server or are the JAR files enough?

If you're just using JDBC, the jar files are all you need :)
