Hi,

We are trying to create a custom navigation menu between tabs i Cognos Workspace 10.2.2. The case is to replicate action button behavior/functionality but with our own design. We have a working code for this navigation, but on our environment we are sent back to public folders after tab is changed. I have attached a case description PDF, that I'm also bringing to Insight next week for IBM's view on this. Any ideas on how to solve or troubleshoot this?

Thanks,

MG

What is the problem with using the action button? You can use an image for the button so it can look however you want it to look.

Because the action button does not give us the degree of customization that we want. Our goal is to create a image with click functionality for navigation between multiple tabs. This would simplify our maintenance instead of having replicated action buttons on all tabs.

I see. How about putting action buttons on the global pane instead of on the tabs? That eliminates the replication problem. I realize I'm not addressing your specific question, but I tend to try exhausting all out-of-the-box options before going to java script that may break on upgrade and comes with its own maintenance headaches. If you must go with the JS then hopefully someone with expertise in that area will chime in with further ideas and assistance.
