Hi,
I don't know the right place for my post, i hope someone move it to where it should be.

I want to modify the Cognos login box, specially the copyright part:

How can i do this?

Thanks  :)

FerHidalgo

Hi,

I would say it is illegal to remove or modify this piece. You can still avoid the screen if you configure SSO (Single Sign On).

There is one way you can do that. Buy the rights of Cognos from IBM which, I think, won't cost more than a few billion.

I asked for help, didn't ask for stupid comments...

Thanks for your reply but I don't want to remove it, I just want to add more information above the copyright.

Many of us on Cognoise possess a sense of humor and like to use it from time to time.

I got a chuckle from the comment that cognostechnie posted and was dismayed that you chose to respond with a rather insulting reply. He is a long standing, knowledgeable, and well respected member of this forum.

It doesn't make sense to bite the hand that can feed you.

Looks like it's possible to do, but you'd need to roll up your sleeves and do some rummaging around under the covers.

First look at Chapter 39 of the Administration and Security Guide (the section entitled "Customizing the IBM Cognos Connection Login Page")

http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/data/cognos/documentation/docs/en/10.2.2/ug_cra.pdf

Then take a look at this Proven Practice document that outlines more advanced topics around the process:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/cognos/security/cognos_bi_platform/page546.html

Cheers!

I asked for help, not for amusement... if i want amusement i'll go to the circus!
By the way you're thinking he can say anything he wants just because, like you say: "He is a long standing, knowledgeable, and well respected member of this forum".
I see there is lots of "members" in this forum that just replies anything to say that he has lots of posts.

Even if such members exist, cognostechnie is most certainly not one of them. He is one of the major contributors to Cognoise.

Your refutation of Lynn's reply doesn't make any sense.

People who have a problem with themselves always have problem with others. People who do not respect themselves never respect others. Attitude is a small thing which makes a huge difference. If I ask a question and somebody's reply is off topic or hilarious, I would either respond postively or simply ignore it if I don't like it but not hit back.

If somebody doesn't know how to react properly then they should definately understand that what goes around comes around. This is a users forum and showing disrespect for members , not just me but my respected friends too, will only earn him a personal ban from me. Name added to my blacklist ! Nobody is obligated to help anyone here. He would probably say that it doesn't make any difference to him but then it doesn't make any difference to me either for whatever he has to say.

JBorges, you need to check your attitude at the door. This is not tech support from a vendor, the people who are here contribute on their own and no one is paid to do so (as far as I know). This is more like a conversation about work in the break room. And yes, sometimes people get off thread or joke around - just like normal conversation in the real world. If that is not your thing, cognoise is not for you and frankly with the attitude you project, you will just get ignored.

Have a nice day.
