Hello All,

I have a fact table in which region is a dimension and a bridge table which forms a link between region and person. In the bridge table a person can be assigned to more than one region.

Here person is the higher level in the hierarchy and region in the next level. Is it possible in cube designer to design a dimension with a child having multiple parents.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Sadly no. Multi-parent hierarchies in OLAP solutions would invariably end up in double-counting when aggregating measures up through the levels, so they are not permitted.

Cheers!
