How to automatically refresh an object of a report

I have a requirement to automatically refresh parts of a report without refreshing the report.

For example, I have one chart and two lists in a report.

Can I refresh only one chart without refreshing the report?

How can I implement this?

Please help me to resolve this one.

What do you mean by "refresh only one chart without refreshing the report"? Are you using these elements as separate widgets on Cognos Workspace? Are you running the report all together as one output file to PDF or HTML or Excel format? What criteria makes one thing refreshed and another thing not refreshed?

Are your two lists and one chart all using the same query or different queries? If you have separate queries for each layout container you could have different filtering in place on each.

It doesn't sound like a sensible requirement to me, but the absurdity of some user requirements never fail to surprise me.

I made three objects in one report by using report studio, and each objects are using different queries and different filters in each queries.

Two lists are showing overall status.
They just want that the chart displays near real-time data without someone having to manually reload the report,
and they also want not to refresh a whole report.

Can the only chart be refreshed in the IBM Cognos Viewer?

We can refresh a report automatically in IBM Cognos viewer by using JavaScript.

So.. could I resolve their requirement like that method?
