can't use generated SQL/MDX tool owning to 'prompt page' doesn't response

Hi Cognos experts,

I met an issue. Please kindly share your expertise.
I can't use generated SQL/MDX tool owning to 'prompt page' doesn't response .
After I input the prompt value in the prompt page, then I click 'OK', but the page doesn't return to report studio, and I failed to get its SQL.[/s]

As we know, there are 3 three steps to generate SQL:
(1)click tool -->'show generated SQL/MDX'
(2)if prompts needed, in the prompt page input prompt values.
(3)click 'OK' in the prompt page.  Then return to report studio page, we we see SQL for the report.

The problem is when there is no prompt needed to input, then "Show generated SQL/MDX" tool is workable.
But when there are prompts needed, in the 3rd step, after I click 'OK', the page doesn't return to report studio . I have to close the page, then it throws an error :the server returned an unrecognizable validation response


I wonder if there are some configuration related to it that are not correct.

Hi Chopin,

Before generating your SQL or MDX have you tried to run the report? if yes are you getting report output with out any errors.

Because it looks like there could be some issue in report definition itself.

These reports have normal outcome.
