Hi Team,

Could you please suggest me to change the time format which is now displaying AM - PM.

I want this prompt to display 24-hour format. I tried a lot and googled as well, but could get the solution.

Is it possible?

Please let me know. this is my requirement.

Thanks in advance

Please review the forum etiquette post and provide the requested details. Is your package relational or dimensional? What type of prompt control are you referring to? A generated prompt? A time prompt? A date and time prompt? You say that you tried a lot, so please share what you tried so that others can help more effectively. What UI property did you set for the various attempts you've made?

Hi Lynn,

I apologise for your inconvenience.
I mentioned the prompt control in the subject matter. (Date & Time prompt)
Once again i ask you the question. In prompt page time is displaying with date in timestampt format(hh:mm AM). when i run the report it fails. Checked date and time format in DB, is as (dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm:ss). I want to convert this timestamp format into 24 - hour format.
I found some point in google yesterday, where says to cast / to_date the filter into 24 - hour format.

Can you please suggest me what should i do.

thanks in advance

Warm Regards

What is the failure? An error? If so, then what is the error message? Or is it an unexpected result? If so, what are the results vs what you expect?

What is the UI property you have set for your prompt control? I assume your package must be relational if you are checking the database format, but can you confirm it isn't a DMR package? What database are you dealing with? What version of Cognos are you running?

It sounds to me like you are assuming the solution to your problem is to convert the format but it isn't clear from what you've posted if that really is the heart of your problem. You have other similar posts around this exact topic that refer to a Cognos 7 conversion but there are no details here about that so it doesn't feel like you're giving the full picture of the situation, making specific advice difficult to provide.

Yes Lynn, you are correct , I want to change the format from timestamp(dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm AM)  to 24-hour format(dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm:ss)

Oracle DB is being used. Please suggest me , which function I should use.
