Hi All,

I was able to create an ODBC (for vectorwise) in Cognos Administration successfully. However, I encountered an error when I tried to use the data source in my Framework Manager that is installed on my desktop. I could not logged in even thought it is successful in Cognos Administration. I have the same ODBC configuration on the server and on my laptop.

Here's the error shown:
QE-DEF-0285 The logon failed.
QE-DEF-0325 The logon failed for the following reason:
RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:
jfc-dw6 RR

UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "jfc-dw6 RR" database. Check that the connection parameters to the database are configured correctly. For example, ensure that the data source connection contains the signon information, such as a password, to connect to the database.
UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during the operation "attach".

Hoping someone could help me. Thank you in advance  ;D

Hello roxsap,
You will need the ODBC defined on the client computer that has FM on it, as well.

Hi cognos810,

It's already defined on the client computer, but it is still not working. :(

Hello roxsap,
I have never worked with vectorwise myself, but from the framework manager error it looks like the machine you have FM on, is not able to get to the database. Do you have a database client installed on your FM machine? I am sure you have, which is probably why you were able to create the ODBC in the first place on this FM machine. Using this client are you able to connect to the DB from your FM machine, with the same credentials?
