Running one report with different prompt options

I am sure its a very basic question which i am about to ask but be patient.

I have one report that has one prompt field.

I want to run the report multiple times with specific prompt value choice.

I see that in event studio i can define the prompt value that i want.

Is this the correct way to go? Create 4-5 different agent with different prompt choices?

Or the solution is something else, like having one agent and 4-5 different schedules that have the prompt defined.

Thanks

Why not just set up four or five report views of the report in your Cognos Connection folder? You can specify the prompt values for each, and schedule them independently (or all together via a job).

Cheers!

you see i am missing basics..So after some RTFM what you mean is:

-Save as many report views as i want
-Configure the views to accept specific prompts and disable show prompt
-Configure that i want to run report every time

Make ONE agent

Put all reports in the agent and have them create SEPARATE EXCEL per report.

Is this what you say?

Nope - you don't need an agent. Create a report view for each different prompt value you want to use. Set the default prompt value in the properties of each and uncheck the option to prompt. Then all you need to do is to create a job and add all the reports to the job. Schedule the job and you're done.

I think i need an agent because i need to run these 6 report views if there are new records from the last schedule run. Can i do that without an agent?

I tried the report views..but i see that i cant have one agent for all the report views becuase the trigger expression contains the report view prompts.

SO.......maybe the final solution is:

DO NOT create report views. Keep on ereport with the promots.

Create 6 different agents and put the prompt values in there along with the different expressions.

what do you think?
