Cognos with Cloud DB

I have installed Cognos in Physical machine and i need to do POC with database which is sitting on Cloud. Do we have any specific type of datasource needs to be choosen ? How can we configure the connection string ?  Please share your thoughts.

What kind of database? Is it a data source that is in the list of supported connection types for Cognos 10?

Datasource is Cloud Teradata. Users are having physical database and they are archiving the data in to Cloud. So i am not sure what information should i ask from Teradata team and which option i should choose in cognos

If it's Teradata, you can probably connect either via ODBC or JDBC. Using ODBC, you will need the Teradata ODBC client on your Cognos server. Using JDBC, you can specify the server name and port and the database name. With a cloud instance I'd suspect a JDBC connection will be easier since it's URL-based.
