Hi,
I just wanted to check if there any sample active reports for cascading prompts/ I mean the actual sample report, so that we can look in to it and replicate.

If so , where can I find.

Thanks,
Nithya

Say , I have two data drop down list region and subregiion

First I add region and  drag region level
Then in 2nd drop down I add sub region , but still include region in values section.
Now I create a connection between two drop down list on region variable.

Now Active report on cascading works, now we have to disable subregion and only enable when region has some value.

In this case I will create a new set variable for subregion, what value should it have and on control enable, what values should I set for vregion and vsubregion ?

Thanks,
Nithya

There are indeed samples available. Take a look at files cascading_prompt.mht, & cascading_prompt.txt, contained in the .zip file at the bottom of this download:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/cognos/reporting/active_report/page593.html

(This is the link for the C10.2 Active Report Cookbook)

Edit: i.e. the same link as the one posted by MF in another of your threads

Hi,

I already outlined the approach in your other post:

http://www.cognoise.com/index.php/topic,27338.0.html

Here's a simple example (attached).
