What is the best method to clear cache for data which updates hourly ?

Currently our Data Warehouse tables update once per day.

We want to change this to refresh hourly.

I am trying to determine how to make sure COGNOS doesn't use cached data after an update.

Searching this site I found references to changing the cache time in Framework Manager ->Project->Governors but I don't see anything other than "Allow usage of local cache" in there.    I could use this option but for performance I would like to allow caching during the hour and simply flush the cache after a data refresh.

Is this possible ?

Hi,

If you are using Dynamic Query Mode, you can create a Query Service Administration Task to clear the cache, and schedule this to run.

Launch IBM Cognos Administration
Go to the Configuration tab
Select Content Administration on the left
In the top right corner, press the New Query Service Administration Task button and select "Dimensionally-modeled Relational"

Give the task a name and choose Next
Make sure "Clear Cache" is selected in the Operation dropdown, and specify the package or data source for which you want to clear the cache

Press Next, then choose "Save and schedule". After you press Finish you will be taken to the scheduling setup for the task.

Cheers!
