Do I need to install Power play client if upgrading to 10.2.1?

Hi,

We are upgrading from Cognos 8 to 10.  We have 2 cubes that are refreshed/updated weekly. These cubes seemed to be created/developed with Power play in our current environment. Do I need the Power play client installed in our new environment with Cognos 10 for these cubes to be updated and functional?  Or, will transformer take care of this?

Hi,

Transformer is what you need. PowerPlay client is a reporting tool - it isn't part of the cube-building process. Your current environment uses Transformer too - sometimes referred to as PowerPlay Transformer. It's just good old Transformer, though :)

Meep!
