Issue with drill up/down in Chart & Crosstab

Hi,

I am facing one strange issue.

I created a time dimension. When I am using this in the list report the drill down/up behavior is working fine.  But when I am using the same dimension in a crosstab or a chart it is not working. I am pulling Year level in the report and when I click on an year, it is not drilling down to the quarter level. It is just showing the same year (as we normally see with the leaf level).

I checked, the members are properly coming for all levels. Not sure what is the problem.

Any suggestion or idea?

Hi,

Did you go to Data > Drill Behavior (on the menubar) and enable 'Allow drill-up and drill-down' for the report?

That's the issue.

I am testing the drill up/down behavior of this dimension on list/crosstab/chart.

The 'Allow drill-up and drill-down' option is enabled and running fine for a list report.

It is showing also showing a link to show the drill feature on Year(s) in the report. When I click any of the years, the report should give me next level members which is not happening. It is again showing only the year that I had clicked.

The same thing is working fine if I use this in a list report.

Not sure what is wrong.

What did you drag into your crosstab for Years - was it a level of the hierarchy? A query calculation? Something else? Normally drilling down and up just works, unless you are doing something funky with expressions or membersets or on the Advanced tab of Drill behavior?

I am just using the Year level of the time dimension in crosstab row. Its very straight forward and there is no other calculation or member sets defined. I am not even using any measure in this test report. Just want to see that the drill behavior works fine.

I do agree with your point and that is why I am also surprised.
