Re: 10.2.1 asterisk character (*) next to some fields instead of $

A client upgraded to 10.2.1 and on some reports the decimal Data Type is showing an * instead of a $. This was not an issue in their previous 10.1 version (not sure exactly which 10.1 version). They do not have mixed currency. And yes they can format the field and the $ will print correctly. But we have many canned reports and we do not want the clients having to change the reports to get them to format correctly.

We have relationsional data.

Just to clarify - are you saying that within a specific chosen data item, some rows appear with a $ and some with a *, or do you mean that some items are appearing with a $ and other items appear with a *?

If the latter, I suspect there is an issue with your Framework Manager model - probably in the data format for the items in question. This is where I would look.

I like the term "relationsional" - it sounds like a hybrid of Relational and Dimensional. Splendid! :)

One Data Item will show a $ and another will show a *. I am sure that the data model could be changed, but it was not showing it before 10.2.1 and why the * on fields that use to show $?

TheBrenda

One data item will consistentaly show $ and another different data item will consistently show * - just to clarify.

Sounds like an issue in your Framework model, in that case. FM projects upgrade between versions just as report specs do. Have you looked at the data format settings for the items in question in FM?
