'The query could not be planned by the Query Service' error while running report

Hi,

Recently we have combined two models, one of which was in CQM was changed to DQM. After defining a new datasource as Oracle/JDBC, I am able to access the data for simple queries. But when complex queries are being created for charts, it is throwing the following error:

Internal error. The query could not be planned by the Query Service:
com.cognos.xqe.ast.qep.QEPGroupBy incompatible with com.cognos.xqe.ast.sql.SQLQueryNode

Any help would be appreciated.

Sadly we don't know nearly enough about what you mean by "complex queries" to be able to give you any sort of reasonable answer. If I had to guess, I'd perhaps took at the nesting order of items you are including. CQM will allow levels from a hierarchy to be nested in non-hierarchical order, whereas DQM will not. Just a wild guess, though.
