Hi to all,

I have this report studio report v10 that has 3 prompts:
Unit#      ==> Ex: 560
Region     ==> Ex: Eastern
salesRep#   ==> Ex: 780

It works fine and the results are as expected but i now need to make it BURST (not by mail).
I also know i need to:
- go under FILE | Burst Options
- Check the "Make report available for Busrting" check box

But then i'm not sure of the logic to apply. I mean, what i want it to do do is the following:
- Schedule the report so that it runs at night for each and every combination (that is business possible) of those 3 prompt values.
For example, i need to to make it run with:
Unit#:       560
Region:      East
SalesRep#:    780

then also:
Unit#:       560
region      East
SalesRep#:   781

etc ...

and of course to automatically save itself under (not by email) a specific cognos connection folder.

Is this sonething hard and long to apply for this report ?

Thanks for any valuable feed-back !

CognosBen

Hi,

Are there many combinations in total?

I just did something similiar, but you might need 3 reports where grouping on the bursting options are different.
One for Unit#, Region & salesRep#.

Then you can run the report with Run with Options - select Advanced Settings and select Bursting & Save to file system.
Individual files are then created.

Hi CognosBen,

1- Thanks for your reply. When you say:
"I just did something similiar, but you might need 3 reports where grouping on the bursting options are different.
One for Unit#, Region & salesRep#."
Question ==> You mean the current report i have will need to be "redesigned" in order to have it the way you are suggesting because the fact that i need to group on those 3 prompt values ?
      Can you please elaborate or even better take a look a the print screen I will be attaching to this post ?

2- This part i do get it thanks:
"Then you can run the report with Run with Options - select Advanced Settings and select Bursting & Save to file system.
Individual files are then created. "

Thanks again for your time !
