Hi All,

I created powerplay cube using transformer and published it on Cognos BI 10.2.1 server. But the analysis studio is not there in the drop down in cognos connection when I log in into cognos portal. Version is 10.2.1. Can someone please help me what I need to install so that I can see the powerplay cube report.

Many thanks.

What install are you using currently? Analysis Studio is included in any "normal" install of Cognos 10 BI. Are you sure your login has the Analysis Studio capability enabled?

thanks for the quick response, ....I have installed Cognos BI 10.2.1 . As of now I am logging in as anonymous and can see report studio, query studio but not analysis.

Do I need to configure that, can you please suggest the steps.

Thanks.

Hi,

There are various installs of Cognos 10.2.1. Most give you all functionality but some are limited. What specifically did you install? Where did you get it?

Ok, it is BI Report so I should have BI server rather.

Every eAssembly you can download from Passport Advantage has a code - eg CIM1TML is IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Server 64-bit 10.2.1 Microsoft Windows Multilingual. Can you tell us what you have and what code?

Hi,

You can only get to Software Sellers Workplace (formerly Xtreme Leverage) if you have access to IBM's w3 intranet. Are you an IBMer?

I just did a search for product code CZA87ML and it came back with no hits. Can you tell us the exact title of the download? Is it 10.2 or 10.2.1? Is it part of a larger eAssembly with a different code?

It could also be that the 'capability' permission is causing it. Go to Cognos Administration and check that you have the permission for Analysis Studio.

Assuming you do have access to w3, go back to SSWP to the downloads page: http://w3-103.ibm.com/software/spcn/swdownloads.html

After pressing "I agree" to the disclaimer, when you get to the page where you can search by brand, description etc, go to the "Find by part number" field and enter CIM1TML

This will take you straight to the correct Windows eAssembly for BI Server 10.2.1

I think this is what you need.

Cheers!

@Cognostechie : I did look into 'Capabilities' and can see the AS link option, but I see the Analysis Studio link is not active like the RS and QS links.. nevertheless I did 'set properties' and gave all 'Read/Write/Execute/Set Policy/Traverse' to all users(this is development setup hence)..yet could not find the link in 'Launch' drop down.
Is there anything which I need to look into 'Users, Groups, Roles'??

or

Is this phenomenon being caused by altogether some other reason. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks

Kind regards,
Zia.

@ MF: Yes I am an IBMer. Looked in SSW for 'CZA87ML' guess they have removed the assembly. The only logical understanding is probably the image which I have installed doesn't have AS and ES in it, and I have installed 'Cognos Report Server 10.2' instead of 'Cognos BI Server 10.2' (which includes all Components).
May be.. could we teak in the current installation any directory files and get the AS option working? Any insights is always appreciated. Thanks.

Kind Regards,
Zia.

Ah! That explains it. The "Cognos Report Server" installs are geared towards upgrades for clients who have (had) Cognos ReportNet. ReportNet only had Query Studio and Report Studio. If you have this install you're not going to get Analysis Studio no matter what you try.

As I suggested above, go to Software Sellers Workplace and search for CIM1TML. This is what you need. CZA87ML is, um, to parody Ben Kenobi in Star Wars, "Not the install you're looking for!" :)
